Update: Ontario Motor Vehicle Dealers Designated Essential Workplaces by the Government of Ontario

Ontario Motor Vehicle Dealers have been Designated as Essential Workplaces by the Government of Ontario. Motor Vehicle Dealers may remain open to provide new and used vehicle sales and mechanical repairs/service to customers. OMVIC and other Delegated Authorities/Regulators were also deemed essential.

OMVIC remains committed to supporting the health and safety of all Ontarians and the public health directives to curb the spread of COVID-19. OMVIC continues to operate from remote sites and is actively assisting registrants and consumers.

“The situation with COVID-19 is constantly changing, and I implore Ontario’s Motor Vehicle Dealers to remain vigilant and to continue to prioritize the safety of their customers and employees” said John Carmichael, CEO and Registrar, OMVIC.
