In very extreme circumstances, in the public interest, OMVIC may issue a freeze order without notice to the dealer which would freeze the dealer’s assets or trust funds. This may occur if a search warrant has been issued or a criminal proceeding has started and customers need protection. A freeze order may also be issued against an alleged curbsider (an unregistered salesperson or dealer).
