Seeking industry leaders for committee positions

OMVIC is looking for experienced leaders in the motor vehicle industry to join two committees, the Industry Advisory Council and the Discipline and Appeals Committees. When appointed to the Discipline Tribunal, members are also appointed to the Appeals Committee.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your industry expertise to support OMVIC’s mandate of maintaining a fair, safe, and informed marketplace for motor vehicle sales in Ontario.

These part-time positions offer per-day compensation, with reasonable expenses covered.

Industry Advisory Council

In support of OMVIC’s consumer protection mandate, the Industry Advisory Council was recently established to provide advice to OMVIC’s Board of Directors on:

• Emerging issues in the motor vehicle sales sector.
• Approaches to enhance industry awareness and engagement.
• Opportunities for improvement to service delivery, policies and procedures.

Positions available for:

• members of the Used Car Dealers Association of Ontario (UCDA) and Motor Vehicle Retailers of Ontario (MVRO)
• motor vehicle dealers
• salespersons
• individuals who are directors, officers, employees or agents of registered motor vehicle dealer

Discipline and Appeals Committees

The Discipline and Appeals Committees handle cases involving registrants’ violations of the Code of Ethics and independently address issues referred to the Discipline Tribunal by OMVIC’s registrar.

Positions available for:

• directors or officers of new or used car dealerships
