OMVIC is now accepting applications from experienced leaders in the motor vehicle industry to join the Industry Advisory Council (IAC).

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your industry expertise to support OMVIC’s mandate of maintaining a fair, safe, and informed marketplace for motor vehicle sales in Ontario.

Open Positions:

We are currently seeking to fill two positions on the IAC. These part-time roles offer per diem compensation, with reasonable expenses covered.

About the Industry Advisory Council: 

The IAC supports OMVIC’s consumer protection mandate by providing advice to OMVIC’s Board of Directors on:

  • Emerging issues in the motor vehicle sales sector.
  • Approaches to enhance industry awareness and engagement.
  • Opportunities for improvement to service delivery, policies and procedures.

Who Should Apply:

Members of the following groups are encouraged to apply:

  • Members of the Used Car Dealers Association of Ontario (UCDA) and Motor Vehicle Retailers of Ontario (MVRO)
  • Motor vehicle dealers
  • Salespersons
  • Directors, officers, employees, or agents of registered motor vehicle dealers

Commitment: 

  • Term: Two years, starting February/March 2025 (renewable)
  • Meetings: Four in-person meetings per year (quarterly)
  • Duration: Each meeting lasts approximately two to three hours
