Seeking Industry Leaders for OMVIC’s Board of Directors and Discipline and Appeals Tribunals

OMVIC is looking for experienced leaders to contribute to Ontario’s automotive industry by joining the OMVIC Board of Directors or the Discipline and Appeals Tribunals. These are unique opportunities to support OMVIC’s mission of protecting consumers and promoting professionalism in Ontario’s motor vehicle sales industry.

Opportunities Available:

OMVIC Board of Directors

The OMVIC Board oversees the effective implementation of the organization’s mandate on behalf of Ontarians. Board members play a vital role in shaping strategic direction, providing financial oversight, supporting outreach and advocacy, and acting as ambassadors for OMVIC’s mission.

Open Position: 

    • One (1) Industry Director – Must be a motor vehicle dealer, salesperson, or an individual affiliated with a registered dealer or industry association

Details: 

    • Term: Three years
    • Elections: June 12, 2025, at OMVIC’s hybrid Annual Meeting
    • Compensation: Per diems and expense reimbursement
    • Commitment: Six to eight in-person board meetings annually and virtual committee participation

Discipline and Appeals Tribunals

The Tribunals uphold industry standards by handling cases related to violations of the Code of Ethics and independently addressing issues referred by OMVIC’s Registrar.

Open Positions:

    • Two (2) Directors or Officers of new or used car dealerships

Details: 

    • Term: Three years
    • Appointments: May 2025 by the OMVIC Board of Directors
    • Compensation: Per diems and expense reimbursement.
    • Commitment: Virtual hearings, meetings, training between one and two half-days per month
